Multi-Omics Profiling Reveals Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Dysregulation in Diabetic Foot Ulcer Healing Impairment.

Diabetic foot ulcers are a serious complication of diabetes, affecting about 25% of patients and often leading to amputation. This study looked at how a type of white blood cell, called neutrophils, may contribute to poor healing. Neutrophils can form web-like structures called NETs, which normally trap germs, but too many NETs can cause inflammation that prevents wounds from healing.
