Multidisciplinary wound care & NPWT

Coordinated wound management — debridement, negative-pressure therapy, offloading, and glycemic control — sequenced across specialties.

Multidisciplinary wound care & NPWT

Multidisciplinary wound care brings endocrinology, vascular, and wound-care teams into a single sequenced plan. Negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is one tool used to support granulation between stages.

How it works

  • Sharp debridement removes non-viable tissue
  • NPWT applies controlled negative pressure to support wound-bed granulation
  • Offloading (e.g. total-contact casting) protects the wound while it heals

Recovery

Dressings and offloading continue on a schedule, with glycemic control managed in parallel.
